Quran and Tajweed Teacher

Milton, ON

Tarbiyah Academy is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Qur'an Teacher to inspire students through high-quality Qur'anic education rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah. The successful candidate will guide students in Qur'an recitation, Tajweed, memorization, and Islamic character while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare lesson plans with clear learning objectives rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah.
Develop long-term plans, unit plans, and homework materials.
Teach Qur'an reading, Tajweed, recitation, and Surah memorization.
Supervise students during classes and other scheduled activities.
Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
Communicate student progress and concerns with parents and administrators.
Participate in parent-teacher interviews and academy events.
Maintain a respectful, safe, and positive classroom environment.
Assess student progress through ongoing formal and informal evaluations.
Encourage Islamic values, kindness, and social responsibility in daily learning.
Perform other teaching and classroom responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Expert level Quran recitation with strong command of tajweed rules, including correct makharij (articulation points) and sifaat (letter characteristics)
Ijazah in Tajweed or Hifz is considered a strong asset.
Arabic language proficiency is an asset.
Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience in a professional environment.
Friendly, patient, nurturing, and respectful approach to teaching.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences.

Monday to Thursday

Time: 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Saturdays

Time: 9:00AM to 2:00PM
