Islamic Studies Teacher

Milton, Ontario

Tarbiyah Academy is seeking a passionate Islamic Studies Teacher to inspire children through engaging, age-appropriate lessons rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah. This role focuses on nurturing Islamic knowledge, character, and confidence while creating an interactive and supportive classroom environment.

Schedule

Sun, 9:00 AM - 2:45 PM

Responsibilities

Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives based on the Qur'an and Sunnah.
Develop long-range plans, unit plans, and homework materials.
Teach Islamic Studies topics including Islamic manners, Prophet stories, Salah, Seerah, stories from the Qur'an, and other thematic lessons.
Plan interactive classroom activities, crafts, and hands-on learning experiences.
Supervise students during classes and scheduled breaks.
Attend staff meetings and collaborate with fellow educators.
Communicate student progress and concerns with parents and administrators.
Participate in parent-teacher interviews and academy events.
Maintain a respectful, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
Assess student progress through ongoing evaluations, daily records, and report cards.
Promote kindness, responsibility, and strong Islamic character throughout classroom activities.
Perform other teaching-related duties as required.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
Solid grounding in Aqeedah, Fiqh al-Ibadah with respect to the four Madhahib, Seerah, & Tafsir.
Strong curriculum delivery, lesson planning, and unit/assessment design skills
Ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities.
Friendly, nurturing, patient, and respectful personality.
Excellent interpersonal, classroom management, and communication skills.
Ijazah in Qur'an & Tajweed is considered an asset.
